If you've been paying attention to this blog, and I doubt that you have since I haven't, you will know that I set this up in September and didn't follow through. My bad. I just couldn't figure out what to write about. My Retail Rants on Facebook were fairly pop
As luck would have it, the fickle shoppers have been behaving fairly well around me, so I don't have much fodder for a rant. I could rant about the insanity of the people who set up tents on the rainy Monday before Bleak Thanksgiving and Black Friday, but I think there's been enough said about that. It's old news. I don't care to rehash it.
But I could rant about the lady who left her credit card in the store and heavily reprimanded me for it. Apparently, it was my fault. I haven't quite figured out why. I keep track of my credit cards, and I thought other people were sort of responsible for keeping up with theirs too, but I guess I was wrong again. I explained to her that when I realized she had left her card, I ran out into the parking to try to stop her and give her the card back. Needless to say, she was deeply engrossed with her cell phone by then, and I was unable to get her attention as she drove right by me. She gave me absolutely zero brownie points for that. She also took up a little time with the store manager. I guess she was explaining to him how credit card possession is supposed work. I don't know. He didn't convey her message to me. I guess he cared about as much as I did. So there is that.
I could also rant about the man who had to be escorted out of the store by three husky men because we wouldn't give him a refund for an opened pack of dead batteries. It was probably about five dollars worth of batteries, and he made a heck of a scene. If I understood correctly, he had driven 50 miles to bring the batteries back, and with the price of gas and all..... Well I guess it was just a matter of principle or something, because math wise it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I'll let y'all scratch your head over that.
Anyway, that's about all I've got to rant about right now. If you have read all this and would like to help me about a bit, please leave a comment below. Even if it's nothing but a smiley face or a frowny face or tears or whatever, it would be appreciated. This blog is an experiment just to see how it goes. It's hosted on a freeby web site, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth my time and/or money to put up a site with my own domain name and other cool features, so that people can subscribe and get notifications of updates and so forth. Please take a minute to say something. Anything will do. I just don't have any other way of knowing that you've been here with this freeby deal. Thanks a lot folks.
Carry on!
ular and I had several people suggest that I start a blog.
